Chanel Metiers d'art 2023-2024 Runway 24A
Chanel Metiers d'art 2023-2024 runway (24A) was held in Manchester in 2023 December. And as usual, for the metiers d'art collection, there are lots of tweeds and jewellery elements in the design. The 24A collection is inspired by British culture, autumn and vivid colour. Let's catch some highlights here.
1. Tone-on-tone / bright vivid colour
At the beginning, we can see these tone-on-tone tweeds suit co-ord sets, dress and coats in bright & vivid colour. Even scarfs, hats and handbags are matched. Most of the suit sets are formal and classic. But the vivid colour makes these formal suit more playful and fun.
2. Maillard Style
Have you heard of Maillard style? Maillard style means using various brown tone colour palette on the outfit and as the main colour tone. It refers colours like brown, caramel, tan, brick orange, chocolate brown, warm taupe, etc. It's been a colour trend in 2023, and it believes that Maillard style would still last in 2024! I hope Chanel is right~~ (cuz I already purchased a few Maillard items to wear!..)
3. Retro outfit design
Except "Formal", another keyword popped up - Retro/ Vintage.
It just reminded me of some 60s British outfit. The double breast suit jacket along with suit skirt, the check pattern & tweed. For myself, I particularly like the dress with scoop neck in black & blue.
See you next runway!
