Could you tell which one is Real/Fake? Spot the Counterfeit! 3

This time is the Everyone's Dream Bag - Chanel Small Classic Flap Black Caviar Gold Hardware

We recently encountered a small CF black caviar gold hardware counterfeit. On the out look, there is no obvious sign of counterfeit. But when we look into the interior, the hologram sticker is on the right side, as we all know, Chanel normally put the hologram sticker on the left interior corner...

So, we do what we always do - check the handbag step by step with Entrupy system, professional inspection and internal check. No surprise, it is a FAKE!

Let's show you some comparison photo. You may struggle if you only have the fake one on hand. But with our authentic CF next to it, probably it's not hard to spot out.

The Reveal!

We can first take a look on their shape and general appearance. The real appears to be with a larger flap than its body. (But cannot say all the authentic ones are the same) It is also puffier than the counterfeit.

You can also compare the leather and texture under different lighting. Although the caviar leather and texture is not the same in every season, the fake one is relatively structure and with slightly wider gap between grains. The shine and reflection of light is different as well.

  

We can see the top length, side, height and the strap drop from these 3 photo. The most significant difference is the strap drop length. The fake CF has a 1 inch longer strap drop when using double strap. So you can imagine the strap drop for crossbody would be 2 or 3 inches more.

And here is the hardwares comparison photo. The fake CC lock is quite short, yellower gold. The fonts and screw under lock are also some clues to spot out the fake.

You can bare see the difference with your own eyes but under the camera, you can see from the reflection of the gold colour. The authentic CHANEL logo is normally hard to capture. There is always different light reflection when you take photo on the logo that makes it with both bright and darker gold shade together.

While the fake CHANEL plated logo didn't do it right. You can clearly see a fake gold plated coating on it. Plain yellow gold with not much light reflection.

And of course the crucial reason that we realized it's a fake CF, which I mentioned at the beginning. The hologram sticker is located in an unexpected spot. And you can see that it's nearly able to be taken off. Not saying a peel-off hologram sticker is a sign of counterfeit. But it could get our attention because some high-level counterfeit would be placed a real hologram sticker which is taken from an authentic & same style Chanel bag. (trust me, we have encountered once...)

Now let's take a look on the accessory came with it, serial number card is actually a key to check the authenticity. Printing, gold plated border, texture, card thickness, fonts, and even spaces between lines would be part of the consideration.

Here are the close-up photo of the fake dust bag.

I have put a vertical red line under the CHANEL print to show you how poor the printing is. I don't think Chanel would allow its own brand dust bag to be like this, right? But with the close-up, to be honest, you won't be suspicious, only if you compare.
