CHANEL 24K Gold-plated Hardware

Personally, gold hardware is the K-I-N-G! Instead of the lighter shiny gold hardware Chanel launches in recent decades, I prefer those matte antique gold hardware to catch the vintage trend nowadays.

However, how about the true vintage style with 24K gold-plate ones? They would absolutely shine your way on the street!

Chanel used to coat 24K gold to make its gold hardware, on the CC lock, metal chain strap, grommets, etc. Pay attention on the CC lock on your Chanel bag, you will see a tiny stamp on it (usually at top left corner). The colour is different from the recent gold hardware.

The base of the hardware is silver-tone metal. So when the hardware colour faded or scratched, the silver metal surface will appear. Sadly, Chanel has stopped launching 24K gold-plated gold hardware since late 2008.
